The Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) is responsible for owning, operating and developing Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field (LOU).
Just 10 minutes from downtown, Louisville International Airport is a low-fare airport that draws travelers within a 200-mile radius of the city. The airport now has nonstop service to more than 25 destinations and convenient connections to cities worldwide. The airport accommodated almost 3.4 million passengers in 2012.
Louisville International ranks third in North America—and seventh in the world—in the total amount of cargo handled as home of United Parcel Service (UPS) international air-sorting hub. The airport handled more than 4.7 billion pounds of cargo, freight and mail in 2012.

Air Cargo Information
The cargo building at Louisville International is located on the west side of the airfield.
Directions: Follow the blue-and-white signs to the building-located just west of the passenger terminal. There is free parking in front of the building for easy package pick-up.
Questions about a cargo shipment should be directed to the specific air carrier. To determine which carrier was used, customers should call the shipper.
If the item was sent “counter-to-counter,” it can be picked up at the appropriate airline's ticket counter or baggage claim office in the terminal.

Louisville International Airport is conveniently located at the intersection of I-65 and I-264.

From Nashville or points south, take I-65 North to I-264 West (Exit 131). Follow the airport signs directly into the terminal.
From Lexington or points east, take I-64 West to I-264 West to Exit 11 and follow the airport signs directly into the terminal.
From St. Louis or points west, take I-64 East to I-264 (Exit 1) to Exit 11 and follow the airport signs directly into the terminal.
From Cincinnati or points northeast, take I-71 South to I-264 (left lane exit). Follow I-264 to Exit 11 and follow airport signs directly into the terminal.
From Indianapolis or points north, take I-65 South to Exit 131; follow the signs directly into the terminal.
From local streets , you may reach the airport by taking Preston Highway to Phillips Lane, proceed west on Phillips Lane and turn left onto the Freedom Way ramp (across from the Fairgrounds Gate 1) and follow the airport signs to the terminal or parking lots.

Courtesy shuttle service – Louisville International courtesy shuttles begin making runs at approximately 5 a.m. and conclude approximately 30 minutes after the last arriving flight (typically between midnight and 1 a.m.) of the evening. Shuttle service is available to-and-from the Surface (long-term) parking lot only. Shuttles circulate every 10 to 15 minutes; however, only one shuttle runs from 5:00 p.m. until the last flight of the evening. (Shuttle drivers receive a mandatory meal break from approximately 7:30 until 8 p.m. During this time, shuttle service will not be available.)
Handicap parking – There is handicap parking in the Under-4-Hour and Over-4-Hour parking garage. Handicap parking is offered at the least expensive parking rates—regardless of location. You must display a current handicap hang tag or license plate on your vehicle and exit at a staffed booth .
Parking payment options – We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Diners Card and American Express.
Valet parking – Valet parking is now available at Louisville International Airport. Passengers may conveniently drop-off and pick-up their vehicles on the upper-level (departure) roadway on the west end of the terminal. Reservations are not required, but are accepted via the internet at http://www.airvalet.com/login.php Travelers with questions are welcome to call Air Valet at (502) 380-3723.
Did you enter the wrong parking lot? Exit immediately and re-enter the appropriate lot. There is a 10-minute grace period for such circumstances. If exiting after 10 minutes, there will be a charge.
Passenger drop-off – Many airlines offer skycap check-in curbside on the departure (upper) level roadway during peak travel periods. However, please remember that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires vehicles to be attended at all times on the curbside check-in curbs for security reasons. Failure to do so may result in fines and towing.
Passenger pick-up – Meeting arriving passengers is easy at Louisville International Airport. However, please remember that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires vehicles to be attended at all times at passenger pick-up curbs for security reasons. Failure to do so may result in fines and towing.
Cell phone lot – For your convenience, you may use our Cell Phone Lot to wait for arriving passengers. Follow the orange-and-blue signs to the free, short-term waiting area—accessible from the upper level (departure) roadway. Drivers are then just a minute away from curbside pick-up, when called on their cell phone by their arriving travelers.

Transit Authority of River City (TARC) provides bus service at the airport. Free TARC schedules are available at the airport Information Booth. You must have correct change to ride TARC. TARC pick-up is located on the island on the east end of the terminal.
